Dillon Sienko is an award-winning photographer, filmmaker, musician, and author whose work blends cinematic grandeur with quiet nostalgia. Across mediums, his art seeks to uncover the extraordinary (or at least the mildly interesting) in the ordinary--whether through sweeping landscape photography, introspective stories of artificial intelligence and first contact, thought-provoking short films, or immersive progressive metal epics.
Originally from Massachusetts and now based in Northern California, Dillon draws inspiration from both urban and natural environments, and infuses it all with a deep love of filmmakers like Steven Spielberg, Robert Zemeckis, Christopher Nolan, and Denis Villeneuve. His work often reflects the duality of big ideas in everyday places, capturing small intimate moments set against vast, awe-inspiring, and unique backdrops.
In 2019, he published his debut book, Interstellar Objects: A Science Fiction Anthology, a collection of twelve speculative stories exploring what it means to be human--or not--in a strange and indifferent universe.
His first short film, Pioneer, which he wrote and directed, was released in 2023 and went on to be an official selection at several acclaimed festivals, including the Boston Short Film Festival and the World Indie Film Awards, where it won Best Sci-Fi Short Film.
Dillon's photography has been recognized in competitions for both astrophotography and landscape work, and for almost 15 years he has composed and released music as a solo artist, merging cinematic orchestration with progressive metal storytelling and instrumentation.
No matter the medium, Dillon's work is, at its core, rooted in curiosity, scale, humanity, and emotion.
